Physiological and pyhsical responses of dairy cattle to heat stress

چکیده

Herd management and nutrition strategies against increasing negative effects of global warming on farm animals have been the subject significant debates in recent years. The fact that changes environmental conditions are directly related to habitats inside barn can affect negatively. Although heat stress differ according species, especially high-yielding dairy cattle exposed stress, respond with various interactive mechanism such as physiological, biochemical, immunological, anatomical behavioral. Therefore, selection practices going for many years improve yield characteristics significantly increased. In this respect, increased load body due high productivity decreases their tolerance conditions. This situation adversely affects cows breeding value. Yield losses, varying some factors about be partially explained by decreasing feed intake a result series hormonal responses affecting appetite region. However, physiological requirements must defined order develop appropriate reduce or eliminate stress. review, variations biochemical behavioral mechanisms originating from care, her applied were discussed.

Physiological Responses of Cattle to Heat Stress

Pakistan lies in the Warm Climate Zones of the world and is subjected to extended periods of high ambient temperature and relative humidity. The objective of this article is to review the physiologic/adaptive responses of acclimated cattle to heat stress emphasizing its affects on nutrient acquisition and metabolism, acid-base chemistry and hormonal balance of the body. Heat stress invokes a de...

Effects of heat-stress on production in dairy cattle.

The southeastern United States is characterized as humid subtropical and is subject to extended periods of high ambient temperature and relative humidity. Because the primary nonevaporative means of cooling for the cow (radiation, conduction, convection) become less effective with rising ambient temperature, the cow becomes increasingly reliant upon evaporative cooling in the form of sweating a...

Balancing Diets for Dairy Cattle during Heat Stress Conditions

A well-known dairy scientist once wrote that "compared with an effective environmental management system, manipulation of the cow's diet specifically for heat stress will have a relatively small effect on productivity" (Beede and Shearer, 1992). Indeed many dietary adjustments made during heat stress feeding are to compensate for reduced feed intake or to maintain physiologic homeostasis in the...

Physiological and Behavioral Responses of Dairy Cattle to the Introduction of Robot Scrapers

Autonomous mobile robot scrapers are increasingly used in order to clean the floors on dairy farms. Given the complexity of robot scraper operation, stress may occur in cows due to unpredictability of the situation. Experiencing stress can impair animal welfare and, in the long term, the health and milk production of the cows. Therefore, this study addressed potential stress responses of dairy ...

Situations Leading to Oxidative Stress in Dairy Cattle

Free radicals are normally produced by living organism, at controlled production rate they perform physiological functions as signal transduction molecules. However, situations leading to an overproduction that surpasses antioxidant capacity creates oxidative stress. Consequently, damage to the cell membrane, protein, DNA and cell death are observed. Dairy cattle are susceptible to oxidative st...
